Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

This is how I do gas.

I goto cardlock. Select Premium 92 (no Ethanol)...top off my truck with at least 5-10 gallons of premium....that way I KNOW IF they use the same pump for Regular and Premium that I have emptied the lines and pump of that engine killing/carb gumming Ethanol Gas....then I fill my jerry cans with premium.

To finish off I add 40ml of Seafom per 5 liters of gasoline, it acts as stabilizer and cleans the fuel system.

Whenever I fill a small engine 2-stroke or 4-stroke I always use MR.FUNNEL.

I know this thread is kind dead, but I didn't see anyone mention the additive you can buy for about $8, along with a quality octane booster from Knecht's or whatever, add it to your non ethanol fuel and there you go.... Exactly like the premix in the can, but for a fraction of the cost.

I use cam 2 racing gas $7.00 gallon, everything runs great on it and it lasts forever.

Stihl's MotoMix is Trufuel with Stihl's mix oil. I suspect Husky (and RedMax) is the same.

The premix Husky sells in Europe is Aspen, and they make no secret about it. They have been doing it for decades, but the product has of couse been updated now and then. It is what I normally use in chainsaws etc.

"Package" options are 5 or 20 (or was it 25?) litre cans, 200 litre barrels, and at least some places in Sweden it even can be bought from pumps. All I actually have seen for sale is the 5 litre cans though.

The fuel in Stihl Motomix also is alkylate, but I don't know if it is exactly the same. The only reason I usually don't use it is that the exaust gas from it for some reason smell really bad (in my opinion)....

CAM2 is the generic name for Sunoco race fuel, used at retail places that cannot use the sunoco name. Not all "CAM2" is oxygenated. It depends on what the local dealer ordered, my local orders the Standard Leaded, (purple). Some say you'll lose power with the higher octane. I haven't found that to be personally. I use it for the quality and protection. Much less expensive than the premixed quarts.

Also, I never add anything to HP fuels (seafoam, etc...) just the 2 stroke oil.

Right the Cam2 I get is purple and has no ethanol in it, all the 2 stroke tools I use it in never have a problem. Works great when you put the mowers away for the winter, I run them out of gas and then put a little of it in the tanks run it for a while, shut off the fuel then put them away when they shut down.

Can both pre-mix and regular mix be used? Let's say I'm going to be cutting all weekend... can I use the cheaper regular mix and then go back to pre-mix for, say, the last tank and then storage? It would seem that the AutoTune would compensate for the changes.
yep they compensate, for fuel, and weather... we had a huge weather change at a GTG the 562 was the only saw running good without lots of tuning!

I recently purchased a small amount of the Husky pre-mix. The can says it stays good for 3 years. The store manager told me it also works good to run some now and then as a fuel system cleaner. Don't know if that is true, but figured it was not a bad idea.

I figure it is also a good idea to put some in the saw whenever you don't plan to run it for an extended period of time.

What one should never forget with premix is that the major brands => Stihl Motomix and Husqvarna Premix only have 1.7% oil(=1:59!!!) content! So for extended sawing like when milling or when using a ported saw, I would advise adding a little extra oil to help the engine live a little longer...

Funny you should mention that I bought a gallon can of the 50 to 1 pre mix and it looks like straight gas with no oil mixed in it.

That was the question I was looking for an answer to. Can you add half ounce of oil to a can of pre-mixed fuel to get around 40:1 ratio. Maybe a little heavier then that because the pre=mix can is 110 OZ. Thank you for your answer.
