Hi Skeans,

Is Woods Logging very close to I-5?, I am rarely coming from your neck of the woods;)

How about parking?, I am usually in a 3 axle day cab, pulling a 53' trailer, Madsen's has Great truck access and parking, what is Woods like?

Thanks for the Heads Up, and any other info you might share about Wood's :chainsaw:

Doug

You can buy a Husqvarna at a box store? Interesting...

Oh How I Wish that were Stihl TRUE, just how old is that ad?

I've been VERY Happy with my Husky's, but the (LACK of) Dealer Support is what could cause me to rethink brands of saws. Stihl makes a Great saw as well, and the dealer support is Awesome.

Doug

It’s off I-5 in the longview industrial area with all the mills and log yards headed towards Rainier Oregon. Parking is easy with a truck we can park a long logger with the trailer down fully stretched out. It’s more then just a saw shop they do rigging, hydraulic shop, then anything to do with logging clothes, boots, stuff for the crummys.
Fully stretched with the trailer down and rack on we’re over 53 foot long.

Thanks Skeans, sounds like another place that I might have to take my Mandatory 30 minute Break after 8 hours on duty at;).

I'll second the thanks for the heads up on Woods. I drive that stretch of i-5 once every year or two. I'm sure my wife will love having to stop at both Madsen's and now Woods too. :)

Well she will get a break in between them, it looks like they are at least 45 minutes apart, IF you get a couple Red Lights and DON'T Speed;), yeah Good Luck with that, NOT SPEEDING driving between Woods and Madsen's:confused::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I've heard enough stories of the local LEOs in Kelso/Longview that I make damned sure I've got the cruise control set when I'm anywhere near there. Having to pay a speeding ticket would probably cut into my allowance in the rigging department, so I'll toe the line. :)

She's actually pretty great about letting me spend time in Madsen's. Only get to go once in a long while so I make it count. Almost tried stuffing a 36" Cannon bar in my luggage last time I was there. I wish we had a dealer 20% as good as those guys near me.

I have many more round trips up and down I-5 than I want to think about (By chance, TODAY makes 30 years that I have been driving Tractor/Trailer) and I haven't noticed the Kelso/Longview area LEO's as being any worse than anywhere else, at least on the Hwy, I don't go into Kel/View much any more.

Boy, I understand about longing for a Madsens/Woods caliber dealer closer to home, I just recently found out about Madsens, and have only been there once, but like Arnie "I'll Be Back", looking forward to seeing Woods, if it is anything like Madsen's I will be both thrilled and jealous, TWO dealers like that, that close together, and we don't have squat near me.

You don't REALLY think that a 36" Cannon bar would have been even remotely straight or usable, after the airline Baggage Smashers/Gorillas got done with your bags do you?:(

You have Dick’s in estacada, a big reason you won’t see the dealers like them anymore is hand falling is a dying art on one of the farms we work on they have one part time hand faller it’s hard to make a living doing it anymore.
