I have been using 266xp exhaust deflectors (503589901) for muffler mods for some time but these are NLA down under. From searches seem to be getting difficult to find in US also.

What are you guys using? I find that the 288xp deflector (503078301) can be a little bulky for small to mid sized saws and they are pricey down here - A$26 a piece.

I made some deflectors, copying the style of the Husq ones, starting with flat metal and shaping with a wood rounded piece over a hole in another wood block. Not really a 'die' like a press, just hammering it into shape slowly, back and forth around it. , Then trim the excess and drill the holes for screws.
Granted, not for customers or restored saws, work only, but they worked. Might save you a lot of time messing for the oem ones.
