MS361 Muffler Mod Attempt #1

I did almost the same thing only using the West Coast Saw kit. I didn't open up and gut out the internals as this was attempt 1 to see how it runs with just an extra side port.

Did the same on my 038 mag. The muffler is a Brazil market non-baffled unit, not sure why they weren’t available in the states. EPA had something to do with that I’d guess.

I kept mine pretty simple. I didn’t gut it, but I did cut a hole in the internal baffle and put the pipe right up against it

I believe back then emmissions had nothing to do with it. I am guessing it was noise standards.

I haven’t even had a chance to run it yet. The carb on that saw is screwy.

Gonna use this spark screen on my 266/268XP muffler mod. Lot of surface area so shouldn’t hinder flow too much. Just gotta find a piece of pipe with the right ID.
