But I signed up about 250 acres of wood today in addition to scoring a $1000 tree job.

Feeling pretty mean.

Here's a pic of the boy next to a groady old white pine on one of the parcels.

Thats great . Select cut ? How many cord/ mbf r u anticipating ?

One job is second thinning, the other is a release cut. The release cut is maybe 300 cord of pulp grade hardwood so the really nice young oaks can grow better.
There's also around 40,00 feet of white pine that is mature.

On the second thin job, there's maybe 20,000 of red oak, and 100,000 of white pine, along with 200 cords of hemlock pulp.

Good for you, sounds like a couple of good scores. I'm down right now because of mud changed the oil and put front pads and rotors on the pickup yesterday.

I spoke too soon.

The first lot is on hold. I spoke with an administrator of a business, and it all seemed great to go.
However, ownership has some issues that make it a low priority just now. So, the lot goes to the back burner.
However, I am undeterred. The second lot should be on-line for a fall cutting.
And mean-time I have no less than three other 20 acre lots to contend with. And a 40 acre lot in the mix as well. Those were "back pocket" lots. I guess it's time to pull them out.
