Two young fellows were cutting up a truckload of oak logs for firewood at one of my neighbours so I threw my saw in the truck and went up and made a few cuts. That is a 372 that Ehp has ported but still has the 356 husky sticker. The chain was a pretty cut back square filed Carleton. They were using an 036 stihl and a 372 Husky with original mufflers and only half sharp round filed chain, so needless to say I was a tad faster in the cut. They thought they were really cuttin' wood till I showed up.

The treachery of old age makes up for the strength of youth!

I have done the same thing before.

I had a guy that wanted some firewood, so I said come to the house, and I will cut down some small trees (that needed to be cut). You clean it up, and you get the fire wood.

Well he came, and it was raining and cold. I sat in the house and watched him with his 028. His chain was duller than a butter knife. When limbing the tiny limbs (all under 4") it would take him at least 30 sec to get through the limb. I let him play with the first tree (there where 10) for a hour and a half. He had limbed half of it, and was trying to buck up the log. I grabbed my 044, and went to work. In 20 min, I had all 10 stripped and bucked (remember I said small, under 16" dbh).

Went back in the house and let them get there firewood (which they were selling, hence working in the rain.) The hardest 20 bucks they ever made :D.

That`s funny Frank. I`ve been known to do similar things although it usually leads to a filing lesson.

It`s always nice though when you can take someones club and actually make it cut without having to force it. I like doing this for the Poulan/Crafstman crowd, because let`s face it, they would probably have a Stihl or Husky if they could afford it. I`ve met some real nice people this way. Also given away alot of files, LOL.

u rite frank thats mean jus mean mean mean... as gomer use to say.
ive done the same .. kinda wish somebody had done the same to me before i found these sites..:) i can gurantee he wouldnt o got away,, without me finding out what was up with his saw. even if it cost me a fith o jack daniels to get it out of him.:)

Yeah, when a fella doesn't know what a saw really can do, he can be satisfied with some pretty poor performance. After your eyes are opened up, you know enough to look for the problem if it isnt going right.

No Frank i have not done anything bad to someone's 260 like drive over it with a D7 but to be honest i think i would use the D8 instead, i like it better, it will be ready soon just promise me you will not race any 346's with it

Ed I usually size things up pretty well before I put a lot of money on a bet. Sounds like you are telling me you know of a 346 that might be a bit faster! They are tricky little saws. Maybe the next get together I can pick up the 260 and if its real bad I'll put lipstick on it!

Frank

There is 3 --346 's here that are badder but your 260 is getting close but donot let Chris know cause he will not race you then for pink slips

Sorry Crofter Chris caught wind of your 260 , he said he may race you with his 3120 but not his 026 but i didnot tell him it was fast so why he will not race you i donot understand for pink slips

pink slips?

So you never raced your fast cars for the pink slips (titles)? Probably before your time but in younger days you might have hung out at an Eat-N-Park and raced fast cars title for title? You lose the race, you hand over the title of your car to the winner. It ended any question on who was faster. If you were mouthing off about your fast car were you willing to lose it?

the man speaks the truth. an while
i aint really done it with saws... thats the kinda thing i mite do., my 55 rancher against yours. never mind that mine dont look quite like yours ..just different versions of the 55.. i could get me a nice collection o 55s that way, mabe some 026 and who knows what else.:)
now come on yall fellers somebody tell me where to get some 55 rancher decals an such. i got a family o brothers ,that i know . they awful smug about there husk saws.. but the decals got to look convincing or i could come out with a arse whuping second to none and some new dental work...:)

An A** whuppin second to none, that sounds like a threat to me.
My 55 is actually an older 266XP model with red paint and a 20" on it. What can I say? my saw is hard to cheat with, the thing looks NOTHING like a 55 or a 55R model, it sounds different, and its WAY more powerful. Oh yeah and I dont think a 55R can handle a 36" B/C on it either.

up here most guys donot even look at the stickers on the saws but look at the transfer ports on the outside of the jug to see if you are cheating, like you say you got a 365 but the jug is a 372 , most guys can tell it from a mile away because the outside of the jug is different

ehp dn here they dont even pay much attention to the saw unless it wont crank fer some reason.. then tender ears have to put the ear plugs in.. thats why the con man like my self, can foolum so easy..aint many worse ways to start a day ,than get all set up
and ready to work and the saw wont start..
