I finally jumped on the band wagon

just bought a 435.

The almighty 200t! (angels in singing in the backround)

my next purchase, as my 335 sits in ruins......

Hey anyone running that new 435 yet? had one in my hands the other day. for 299 it was very tempting.

But 299 plus 300 equals the masterpiece...so it's a study in delayed gratification for me this time around.

Haven't used it yet at work.it loud.needs the limiter caps clipped.very well made.

Hey Bermie, looks like you're fixin to get REAL busy.
Hope it's nothing more than thrown limbs and such for you .
Stay safe.

Ha, ha you noticed!!!

Busy all day today, reductions and clearing branches away from roofs...got a norfolk pine takedown tomorrow morning early. More work next week in the lull...

We should only get 45kn, leaves and small branches...but then again all the trees are fully laden with leaves, may get some bigger branches.

After that Earl...then FIONA...ha, my namesake!

OK, so now the lacking RPMs on my 338 Cali is dreadfully obvious. The 200T smokes it. I have the screen out and the hi rev turned up but still underwhelming. Anyone highly recommended for enhancing husky climbing saw performance?

Has anyone had problems with the gas cap not wanting to come off of a 200 after a few months use on the saw?

It is because you are over filling the tank, the caps fit tight enough that fuel/oil will not ooze out as you tighten; consequently the pressure makes it close wrong.

After using only Husky climbers I finally bit the bullet and integrated a 200T. I tried to avoid this, but in the end the performance gains were too noticable when dealing with larger wood.

I should not have barrowed my friend's 020T, then I wouldn't have known what I was missing.

Oh well.

As my title suggest, I am no climber. But the 200T I picked up in the store, if memory serves, had a very small opening in the handle. I thought if I was wearing gloves I wouldn't even get my hand in. Is this the case?

(I wear large gloves. Very average size hands.)

Stihl should never have changed the old style caps. There was nothing wrong with them. I hate the new flip caps and so do almost everybody I know hates them as well.

I have 4 200Ts. The dealer told me 2 were not worth fixing any more and sit on the shelf for parts. The other 2 run great. One is 5 years old and the other one 2 years.

I also have a 192 for the ground man to use.

I've got one 200 for me in the tree and a 192 for any prospective climbers as well as use on the ground.

The only people I have heard of liking the flippy caps are the hobbyists who don't have to fill their tanks several times a day or rely on someone else to do it frequently.

Love my Stihls but they can keep the dam flippy caps.

Yep.. but you do get used to them (somewhat).. and then once you are used to them then you usually do not cause too many spills

But.. it usually takes a spill or two before you get that way..

Never had to do that with the old style.

But for some reason there are some of the saws that seem to have more issues than others.. all with flippy caps. Not sure why and have never taken the time to study them.

Lots of room for hand in any 200T I have used.. unless you have hands the size of a grizzly bear maybe.

Hey Bermie....how's the weather?

In honor of this here thread, but mostly for other obvious reasons, I did purchase one 200T with a 16b/c thrown in on the side yesterday.

p.s. I love my flippy caps.

Just fine...TS Fiona dissolved just before it hit us...got to play cricket after all!

PS...I have a love hate relationship with flippy caps

I've had oil dumped in my hair and face from a groundie on my pole saw and a pocket full of gas all at the same time. I double check the caps myself from then on!

Bought the 200t brand new. I looked around a bit for used, but finally dedcided on new. Got a decent deal with the 16 b/c thrown in, plus I've got a warranty. One of the best places to buy in town, they also service what they sell.

Got my 260 pro in there, so they are getting to know me.

I'm putting it to wood this afternoon. :hmm3grin2orange:

Yeah, the 260 is a somewhat unheralded underdog. She's a sweet runner. I've had it a year and a half on and off the ROW and she just flat performs worry free.

It is past time for my 460 purchase, but that ought to wrap up the primary saws for me. Might grab a 660 on the way to a hurricane though.

I ran the 200t yesterday on it's first job. Worth every penny. Even better than I expected. The only complaint I had was I didn't get to run it enough.
