Stupid house with a stupid design, but at least has a fireplace capable of actually burning wood... white carpet around the fireplace, an ember must have shot out, past my grate, and onto the carpet b/c there's a burn on the carpet now.

I stand before impending screaming and yelling.

Is there a rug/carpet that will ring the tile around the fireplace? I see some that are a a full semicircle:

but none that have a cutout so it goes around the existing tile of the fireplace.

Is there something I can cut out/fashion myself?

Anyone that has carpeting around any wood burning appliance is nuck'in futz. Even our solid fuel (pellet) stive sits in a brick base and nothing combustible within 4 feet of it's perimeter. If your homeowner insurance agent ever saw that, you'd be cancelled.

Of course our floors are all engineered hardwood anyway. I don't like carpeting anywhere, anyway.
