If it were me, I'd file a PayPal complaint now. That lets him know that you mean business, and provides a documented means of conversation with the seller. It can be resolved at either point, or escalated to a claim.

I disagree. Give him a day or two to respond.

What climber do you know that dos'nt know what h and t stands for....I think he new about the p/c and left that out of the description...point blank[/QUOTE]

I don't think I know one climber that really knows what the carb settings mean, or how to adjust one. The guys I know may realize something is wrong with a saw but don't have a good grasp on comp., piston scoring, etc. From his e-mails he seems to be a pretty good guy. Give him a day or so and go from there. Either way, I hope it works out for you.

Most of the non runners I buy on ebay are seized even if the seller says they are not, you can never be sure if the seller knows unless the muffler has obviously been removed so can't complain too much but still hate finding them.

Got well done on a 335XP spares or repair non starter which had been seized, bent oil pump shaft, damaged exhaust cover, flywheel key damaged, oil pump pinion damaged - took a few days of hard graft to get it running again and more skill than the neanderthal that sold it to me had.

Just the fact that a little TH saw has been rigged with a 16" bar would put me off. I always shake my head and grimace when thinking of some poor ignoramus laying into a pile of 18" logs with their leaned-out 16" TH saw and grinding away for ten minutes at a time without a break... Those saws are just not made for that sort of sh!t, a perfectly balanced 12" setup and quick short bursts on 2" - 10" stuff is what TH saws are designed for. Best thing anyone can do is ditch the tiresome bigger-is-better mentality, quit using the wrong saws for the wrong job, and save the 16" for the bigger long-stroke rear handle saws, 45 - 50cc

When I see that a car, or anything with an engine, 'needs a tune', I take that as 'doesn't run for #### and the cost to fix is more than I can afford'.

If all it needed was adjusting and new spark plugs they'd have that done and sell it as a good runner.

I get that from time to time, " my saw needs a tune up " i hand em a spark plug and tell them "heres your tune up" $3 please..now go clean your air filter.

Yes he's contacted me back.
He has refunded me back 222.50$ and said he'll refund me an additional 30$ in the morning(has to go to bank) for a total of 252.50$

I paid 232.50$ for the saw plus 20$ shipping.

I'll send the saw back to him as soon as I get that 30$...because Im going to lose out on the 20$ that it'll cost me to ship back......But i can't complain at least he did'nt make me have to take it to the next level by filing a complaint.

good deal...glad to hear you got refunded. IMO if your looking for a top handled saw I would shy away from the 335 and 338...

Figured since I went threw the trouble to make this vid will atleast post it .
I did get my money back in full plus shipping, guy was decent about the whole thing.

Glad you got it all worked out.I try not to buy from knowledgable saw people on ebay.Don`t get me wrong, there are good sellers, but there are also back yard hacks, who know just enough to get a saw going, but with garbage parts and techniques.I like buying saws that have NEVER been apart. When someone starts saying they replaced or serviced, I tend to stay away.
