Okkkkkkkkkkkkkk if you so insist I shall lite your fire brother Belgian. The fire company has several generators they carry on the trucks not just for the electric saw but for other items as well. The Leesburg company is a pretty big outfit and they always seem to send most everything they got when a house fire takes place. According to their top man, Paul Early, the man I sell to, they hose down the house but many times there is still fire between the walls. Sometimes the house is so full of heavy smoke a gas saw will not run for them to open of the walls to get at the fire between them. They grab the generator and electric saw and take it to the house. The generator sits outside and with lots of heavy extension cord the saw is hooked up and goes in the house to saw open the walls. Paul tells me the E220 with carbide chain can rip a wall open in seconds. Topping that Paul is in the process of designing a tool something like a pole prunner to saw open the ceilings in these houses that have fire between the ceiling and uppper floor. He has come to me with the idea and I have passed it onto Stihl to see what they can come up with to get at these fire filled ceilings. Such a tool would be of no purpose to the average public but for fire companies its a great idea.

So there ya have it Belgian, now simmer down you ole German man you, haha

Of note. Many may not realize it but local fire companies are by far the best accounts a Stihl dealer can have. They spend not hundreds or thousands at a time but 10's of thousands for equipment such as Stihl 460 Rescue saws and Cut Off saws. The Leesburg fire comaony is getting a new ladder truck in August that cost them 300 grand. Guess who is gonna load that baby up with Stihl, yup, you got it, me. That one truck should bring us a 10-15 thousand dollar order for Stihl. The Arlington fire company near Washington DC recently paid me a visit while RiverRat was stopping in to see me. He can verify this. They placed a order for $11,000 for Rescue saws and Cut Off saws and extra carbide chains. So any Stihl dealer not working with the local fire companies is really missing out bigtime.

One thing is for certain Mow and I'm sure you already know. 95% of all the Stihl I sell is already sold when the customer walks in the door. Stihl indeed has done its homework in getting the name and reputation out there. What I like best of all is having two or three customers at the rack at the sametime. One will be a longtime Stihl fan the other two first time buyers. The long time fan will step in with the newbies and sell for me and all I do is recomend the model the newbie needs. Happens all the time...

Ya liked that smooth Elvis southern voice did ya,LOL. Ya know Mow I'm sure many on this site think I'm a real smart azz for the way I carry on and play but in person I'm as nice as the next man. You heard it ya self so when they (woodie and manual) get to picking on me and I have to givem the ole smack down you can tell them its a nice man kicking their orenry hides, not a mean one,LOLOL

Back to sales as of yesterday evening I done sent out 104 Stihls for the month. I should get 115 before months end. Thats not a huge amount compared to some but for us at the store we're delighted. Its a mere one man operation and the owners love those numbers. Like you say, keep them Stihl's rolling...

OK, back on topic:
You might also look at a regular beam circular saw Mr Firewood. Just like a regular circular saw, with a 14" blade. No bar oil, no chains to sharpen etc. Just another idea for you.
