I just spent $50K on a pick-up today. Nissan Frontier Nismo. Fun machine, I'm having an aluminum, foam-lined box fabricated to house my little MS260 for off-roading entanglements.:)

$50k!!! I spent $10k on my Frontier a few years back. You really do have money to burn. While I do like the Nissans I feel $50k could buy a whole lot more than a mid-size truck!

My neighbor had one of the nissan frontiers he liked it but only payed around $26,000 for his. Man for $50k you could have gotten a really nice Ford Power stoke which would last longer then the little Nissan. I have seen a power stroke with 500,000 miles on the original motor it had been through 3 transmissions though.
This one is the Nismo version crew cab. 265HP, fully loaded. Sticker price was $40390.00. Throw tax on that and some aftermarket goodies and there you are, $49000.00.

Simon,
I'm sure you bought the truck as a plaything, but when you post here about spending $50k on a Nissan you know you're going to stir up a hornet's nest. I guess you thrive on that sort of thing though. Seems you've got time as well as money to burn!

I don't have money to burn. I have earned every penny, many 20 hour days in my mid 20's to mid 30's. I don't mind spending money, I hate wasting it though. A vehicle is generally a terrible investment but it is a necessary evil. I love fishing and camping and almost every one of my favourite spots are impossible to get to in my Lexus sportscar. We all work hard for our money, we also have to set aside time to have fun otherwise what's the point of life.

Simon,
You've got a Lexus sportscar and a $50k Frontier? That is the very definition of money to burn man! A vehicle to me is transportation from point A to B. To each his own though.

I lived on macaroni and hot-dogs while going through university. I have had some good opportunities since. I wasn't lucky enough to have been born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I started shoveling snow in Stewart BC for $7.00 an hour at 10 years of age on my way to school. Last year I made just under $700 000.00 USD with my manufacturing company based in Clearwater Fl. I am in Campbell River now as I plan to retire here when I am 42 (3.5 years from now). I am not trying to brag, as I am relatively poor in my circle of friends. (most of which could not even start a chainsaw).

Wow! Don't mention money around these guys. I'll never show any of you guys my naked body, with all this financial envy...well you know what would follow.;)

There should not be too much financial envy here. A good faller in BC earns over $100K a year. Danger equals money.

$26 K sounds alot more realistic , around $ 30 k would put him in a diesel Super Duty .

When I went to the website and built a F250 king ranch with all the options it was $47,880. THat was with everything 4x4, crew cab, 6.0, limited slip ,heated seats, on 20s with all terrains. I don't understand how you can spend $50,000 on a midsize truck.

Take it easy man! I never said you didn't earn your loot. You can spend it however you like. But the fact remains that a Lexus and a $50k (be it CAD or USD) Nissan are luxuries.

You going to put a lift kit on it I think that truck would look awesome with a 4 or 6 inch suspension lift.

I don't want to upset the stability. It already has 10.5" ground clearance so I think I will leave it alone in that regard. I like the fact that it has a real frame. It moves along very well with the 265 HP powerplant.
