I have been thinking about an inertia splitter for the last few years. All the people on this site who own one seem very pleased with them. A used one is very hard to find.I learned about this one from someone on this site. I picked up a new one from Melvin Yoder from Flack Hill Machine in Howard Ohio last Saturday. Tonight myself and a couple of wood cutting friends of mine tried it out. I think I am going to be very happy with it. I also own a 22 ton Swisher that I will keep to use in the vert position for the big stuff.

I have to ask this first.... Are you the guy who keeps taking pictures of bigfoot and sending them in????? Those are BLURRY.

Now that aside how does it work? Are there any differences in his vs the other brands? What kind of price does he get for them if you dont mind me asking???? Are there any variations or just the one model?

im guessing that there is a really quick and dangerous 'snap' involved in splitting. Do tell how it works.

You can watch them on youtube... easiest search is super split log splitter and there are some pretty in depth videos from the DR version as well. Very slick machines.

I don't know why the pictures came out so bad.
The splitter was 2850 out the door with the high speed wheel kit. It tows very well, I pulled it 60 miles home at 60 to 65 mph without any issues. It has a 4 hp Honda engine.
I want to put a tachometer/hour meter on it. One of those small ones that cost 20 to 50 bucks
where a wire goes around the spark plug wire. Anyone have a link to one they like. Some or all, I am not sure have non replacable batteries in them.

High speed wheel kit?!?!?! Wow! Not tipsy what so ever??? $2850 sees like alot but its made in USA!Great lookin machine!!

Pete,
I am out of town for work for 5 weeks, otherwise I would be glad to take some more pictures.
You are welcome to come and try it out sometime when I am home.

I bought one of these.What a Machine!!!VERY well built!!Worth every cent!!

those tires/wheels look they came off a cart you pull with a lawn tractor--no way would i pull that thing down the road at 30mph, much less 60+mph..

no way would i spend that kind of $$ on that particular splitter, but thats just me

Could you please post up a bunch of pictures, especially with the cover off?

I'm a happy SS owner and have been interested in seeing what other brands do differently, mainly regarding flywheel/pulley sizes and engagement mechanisms.

Thanks.

Try here, tinytach.com

I have one on my diesel tractor, been on there since '02 and no battery issues. I mounted it to the dash with velcro and it hasn't moved, worth it.
