My only gripe is the port timing and thin base gasket. Really limits the average guy porting his own saws. Machining is needed to make them run optimum.......Although 99% of people would be satisfied with the results I got.

Prolly more than that as more than 99% of people do not use their saws to cut cookies ;)

Nice thread. When I was at the dealer, I picked up a 500p and was instantly stunned. I thought I had hefted a 40cc saw - it weighs a full pound less than a 346xp and prolly even more so than a 550 and 261. If an MM and retune in 5 mins makes this saw cut as well as you showed, it really is a no brainer for folks that have to carry them around all day. I'll be ordering the Euro version shortly here(Echo CS 500ES). I'll try and do an MM VS ported test on it, too. I am curious to see how stuffed the Euro muffler comes.
