Some just can't move past what old uncle Buck told em back in the 70's that high octane fuel burns slower than low octane fuel lol

The reality is Octane has nothing to do with the speed of combustion! Quite a few just can't handle that fact 😆
 
Has anybody heard of a power saw running nitro-methane? I'm not talking about 10% or even 25% nitro-methane as found in R/C engine fuel...but real Top Fuel nitro-methane. Now that would be cool...

No reason it can't be done, I know a bunch of guys running 26-32cc 2 strokes on 1/4 scale dragster on nitro. Carbs are significantly modified to flow more fuel, and they usually run restrictor plates to limit incoming air. Usually the engines don't last very long before needing a rebuild.
