Are any of you Iowa boys from the davenport ? Skyline tree service from davenport Iowa was just busted yesterday (Thursday) for soliciting door to door service without a permit. Bloomington normal is pretty hard on solicitors, which they should be. But I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them. We usually get at least one tree service soliciting in our area per year and their usually hacks.

I know who they are, where did they get busted?
Normal Illinois, I work for their forestry department. We have seen a big rise in numbers with new tree services when EAB became real relavent in our area. Especially this year. We have a huge problem with people that cut and leave thinking the municipality's will haul their brush away. Which also comes with a big fine. Allot of them are not insured. I wish the local governments would put in place a law for some kind of license showing proof of insurance or something similar. It's gotten out of hand.

Gotta be impostors then. I know the dad is laid up, all busted up. He was getting out of their chipper truck and slipped, cracking his ribs on the chipper tongue, was hurt pretty bad. The kid used to climb for me, wanted to learn more so he left his dad for awhile. He is back with him now. They aren't hacks, but good ol boys. They used to top, but I got the kid changed and he then changed his family. Kid does good work when he is with me, what he does on other jobs (he climbs for a few different people) I have no clue. But I do talk to him a lot, as he knows were all the shops are for trucks. Actually talked to him about a hour ago, told me they had been working around here, did 5 prunes and 1 removal, told me how he had to step it up because his dad was hurt. So I don't think it was them, they don't do that around here either. They did have some guys going around town claiming to be them last year. They got arrested.
I wonder if its those dudes that are on the run from Nebraska, I bet it is! First they where over by Sioux City, then my place, now yours!

Making their way across the land! I bet they use the name of a company from the last place the have been.
I am sure its not Skyline, they are good ol boys and are not the type to do something like that. Think they have a pretty good client list, they are always fairly busy. Never have heard anything bad about them, only self admitted topping and spiking prunes, that they stopped a couple years ago. One of those deals where that's how they where taught, didn't know any better and never looked too anyone for help. Kid is real clean, no drugs or alcohol, single father of a baby girl, good dad. The rest of them, I cant speak on but have never heard anything about them, other than they live for mudding and horses, they have some monster aas trucks. MONSTER AAS TRUCKS! One is called the Mud Duck and it has giant tractor tires on it.

Just talked to the kid, not them. They would like your phone number, so the dad can talk to ya, want to make sure their name is in the clear. He did tell me, that those guys that got busted last year for using the same name, do have a service with the same name, but they are not from here. They came here, tried to operate and he ran them out of town, legally. Like I said before, they where arrested. It could be those guys, kid cant remember where they where from. Hit me up with a PM and I will pass your number, or do they just call into the Forestry Dept in Bloomington? Either way, don't matter, but they where adamant about getting this cleared up.

Maybe the state or local government instead of cramming it In there pocket , should take some of the money they do collect from fined door knockers and such and pay someone to spread the word maybe take some time and visit the senior centers and have a few town meetings and get the word out , that these guys are around ! Yea #### that they'll just find a new permit to superceed the old ones that cost a few bucks more to hammer the guys that at least make some attempt of being on the up and up ! What a crazy idea it is to actually try to protect the contractor who's also your neighbor or a friend and more importantly a taxpayer !

Yeah, well, now you guys have seen a part of what goes on around here, it is the wild west. All kinds of guys like this, why I always screamed at the city guys about some rules and regs. They don't want to be bothered with that stuff, they are more interested in imposing imminent domain, so they can put a "nature" trail through peoples yards. No more tho, I cant waste any more time on it. They no the problem exist, they will just turn a blind eye to it till they are forced.

Getting it cleared up tho. Fur sure not the guys I know. The scammers have nicer equipment, lol. They are running in a white washed forestry get up with a white chipper and white explorer. The good ol boys have a light brown, kinda greenish old 86 IH 4X4 Utility truck, it was my first bucket truck and they now have it. So def not same guys. Good ol boys are PISSED! They are going to get this taken care of very quickly.
