Nope.Recently I have asked theNOT true, at least in the U.S. Every one that I have encountered has had an unlimited coil... and they run too fast 14-14.5K at sea level. Did you possibly mean 171, 181?
technician at the local Stihl shop about this .I was told that after
2001 (or was it 2011 ?,not quite sure... ) all Stihl 2-mix chainsaws do have limited coils.
Furthermore I 've confirmed his statement with my tach .
When the rpms reach about 13,000 then the tach goes nuts.
It becomes unable to keep a constant reading ,while the saw sounds almost like four stroking ,even If the H screw is turned all the way in . The coils my 2-mix 180s have are made in Germany .As far as I'm aware in the US the 2-mix MS170/MS180 are unavailable.
