Are there any trees in Nebraska?
Nebraska's largest known tree is an eastern cottonwood located southeast of Seward. It is 36 feet 9 inches in circumference, 85 feet tall, and has an average crown spread of 107 feet. The eastern cottonwood is the state tree. American Forests' champion tree program has recognized this tree as a National Co-Champion with a cottonwood tree located in Idaho.
