Is it time for an Echo stickie?

Long time reader got a 330 evl from a friend and have gotten an itch for the older echos
Got a 280e and really like how it feels

Pretty little buggers aren’t they? Funny thing, the guy I got mine from said he didn’t like it because it was too heavy.

Its probably on the heavy side compared to the new top handles like 2511t
Has good power imo would be a good saw for bucket work and I like the old school sound of the 280

I really like the construction of the echos...Got a cs-302,cs 440 evl -found it in a pawn shop that cranks on half a pull-runs and oils great --need to work on the fuel tank grommets. cs 590 and battery echo--also great saws for the$$$---David

Are you finding the parts ok?

I replaced a fuel line on the 750 evl it was a fat ended line and sealed the carb box too so a regular line left a hole around line where sawdust could get by had to MacGyver something up

Take a look at the piston through the exhaust port when you are checking the muffler.

Doubt some have ever been off usually on vehicles here exhaust is cut off wheel time

Usually, saw exhaust bolts come out a lot easier than automotive manifold bolts which are often perma-rusted. I have never really had a problem getting them off of saws.

I have an old echo cs6700 that I use at the cabin. I find it a bit heavy compare to my huskies but she's a good saw. I believe Echo are great quality/price saws. No more baffle in the exhaust too, she's pretty loud.

echo cs330evl CDIo we have any avionics techs out there who by chance has done some trouble shooting on the CDI and determined the cause of failure?.If I had the test procedure I would like to take a stab at repairing the one I have.

Maybe a stupid question but how do you know the cdi is bad?

THE COIL CHECKS OUT SO I ASSUME ITS THE CDI.IF I HAD A PROCEDURE FOR CHECKING THE CDI MAY BE I COULD ELEMINATE THAT PART OF THE CIRCUIT.I HAVE ALSO READ ON THE SITE THAT CDI FAILURE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM

I like my Echo Cs-400 it’s a go to saw for clean up and just beating the crap out of.
I gots it for 75 bucks new in the box.
