This won't help with your stash, but-
I've learned to cut small stuff to size while it's still on the trunk.
Start at the small end and work toward the trunk.
So much easier than dealing with a bunch of long branches later.
That's how I do it too. I don't like cutting that small stuff and picking it up, but it is the easiest way I found to make kindling out of the branches. I use a baby Homelite XL2 out at the ends, right after the tree hits the ground. But if your way works for you, go for it. Why a ripping blade?
