John Deere who made them

I can buy one of these for $20 looks new, I just want it to mess with, take apart, practice porting on.

They were Remingtons for a while, then Homelites, Echos and Efcos. Maybe more.

The first saws were Remingtons, then came the Echo's, then the Efco's and then John Deere bought Homelite. I read somewhere that John Deere was losing a million a year with the Homelite before they sold the brand.

nothing they ever put their name on was worth $20.......if it is an Efco 156 I will give you 5 times that for it.

I have a JD branded saw here, that would change your mind.. And in a hurry.

Pretty sure it's an Efco, but the Efco guys will have to fill you in on which one.
