Finally got some timed cuts in with Russ' 260 Pro today as well as Roberts 046....needless to say I am quite impressed with the feel of the 260 and the power...very nice handling saw...the only drawback I saw to it, was the fact of the fixed high speed jet. Luckily, with the adjustment of the low, it seemed all good and revved out nicely and cleanly.
I was cutting a 8" diameter round dry pine, and stock the 260 seemed ok going through it at an average of 5.28 seconds with a stock chain...after I was done it cut an average of 4.06 in the same log...with the smaller wood it seems that it is harder to read the gains...but nevertheless..gives one an idea of the improvements.
I did cut the same log with the 046...but it was hard to time by myself...lol...I buried the 046 in a 14" dry pine, and it just ate it up...didnt bother to time it, as I dont have stock times for it..(Lambert must have filed the chain )
