Finally got some timed cuts in with Russ' 260 Pro today as well as Roberts 046....needless to say I am quite impressed with the feel of the 260 and the power...very nice handling saw...the only drawback I saw to it, was the fact of the fixed high speed jet. Luckily, with the adjustment of the low, it seemed all good and revved out nicely and cleanly.

I was cutting a 8" diameter round dry pine, and stock the 260 seemed ok going through it at an average of 5.28 seconds with a stock chain...after I was done it cut an average of 4.06 in the same log...with the smaller wood it seems that it is harder to read the gains...but nevertheless..gives one an idea of the improvements.

I did cut the same log with the 046...but it was hard to time by myself...lol...I buried the 046 in a 14" dry pine, and it just ate it up...didnt bother to time it, as I dont have stock times for it..(Lambert must have filed the chain:rolleyes: )

Hi Dennis, nice lookin saws, how ya makin out with my 357XPG, got ere done yet?
I think I did file that chain, 90 second tickle in fact. I think RB still has the original edge I put on his 346G, cause he doesnt know how to file either.

How true, Mr Pro Filer... I'd send it back to you for a nice edge and another Never Dull treatment, but I dont know how to get the bar off, and the shipping costs might kill me.

But seriously, I've now a 20 inch .325 chisel chain on it, and blocked down two big doug firs with it today, cutting 3-5 foot sections, up to 25 inches. The saw is just awesome!!! Finally brought up the 372W for one last cut when she ran out of gas. Sure the 372 is faster, but the little fella is just a joy to use aloft. Heck , what's 30-36 seconds for a cut that big?!

Left two 32 foot butts, which will scale at about 1300 board feet... too close quarters to drop anything else. Maybe less, as I think we'll have to buck them down to 26' 10", as I'll have to bring a short truck in, I'm pretty sure. Not long enuf for 2 16' 6"s, the minimum saleable length.

Roger...first of all, I cant believe you didnt just change the chain after LLamabert touched it....and yep that 346 is a sweetheart...I am building my dad one so he will give me my Realtree Poulan back.

Rich..dont know how good these pics are, as I need a new camera....but, hows this?

Hay I got the bar,and thanks again Clem. Russes two sixty pro sounds good like you played that good old Clearwater dremafacation. Some electrolux fan thought it would be a good idea to kick me in the face while his buddy held me down so I can't see shiit right know.
I will try and get some pictures up of the improved chainsaw with the salmon bar. Thanks again. Seth

nelson i sympathise. i just have a hard time understanding these younguns methods of handling a disagreement.
gun or gang is the only way they understand.never any strait up hand swapping ,with no big deal made about it. sure seems a lot simpler to me.
that way tommorrow u either totin a whipping or have dished one out. an usually no bodies that bad off.like i said its lot simpler. an i would like to see it come back. dang these idiots that want to shoot somebody at a stop lite or somethin.
