I did a search on here and found that husky chain is Oregon chain. Ok here is my question is Oregon chain made in Canada? My Jred came with the S42 chain 3/8 x .058 the box it came in is written in Swedish and English and say's made in Canada, so does my bar. I did some more searching and think it might be Windsor but I don't know. Any info Thanks

Good chain

It is the same chain as the Oregon 73LP and Husky H42 - made by Oregon in Canada.;)

Very good chain.....

Thanks for the info I did not know Oregon chain was made here. I am very happy with the chain no complaints need to pick up a few spare loops.

Austin 1: FWIW All Husqvarna Chains and Bars are made by OREGON! :biggrinbounce2:

Mostly true in North America, I believe - but over here most of the laminated bars are made in Norway (I believe it is at the former Jo-Bu factory, where all the better "E-lux" electric saws also are made).

They are lighter than the Oregon made laminated bars, but holds up as good or better........;)

And I thought the hole saw was made in Sweden!

The saw is made in sweden but bars and chains come from oregon...

I almost forgot one thing he and his brother were born here but go back to Norway often to visit family maybe he picked the bar up there. I will have to ask him but I looked at it just yesterday and it said made in Norway. Also he is the only friend I trust not to drop a tree on me!!!

SawTroll: I have some of those bars Made in Norway that are branded Jonsered. The paint on them is a porous looking silver, so I put Oregon or Windsor bars on the the saws as I was not sure of the quality of those bars. If I read your post correctly these are very good bars for (laminated bars)?
Talking about Jo-Bu reminded me that the L65 & L77 saws were built by Jo-Bu in Norway, (this is what I was told anyway), I have been involved with Electrolux since 1978 selling & servicing their products Husqvarna, Jonsered, Partner, & Pioneer Partner but no Poulans.
Have a Great Day over there!

That is new info - I thought that the late L65s were made by TOMOS in Yugoslavia - and I still do.

... but they could of course have been made at the Jo-Bu factory for a while before that....

I think your right late l65s may have been made in Yugoslavia it is very confusing

NOT here, the bars are usually "made in Norway", and they are better and lighter than the Oregon stuff.......:biggrinbounce2:

Have "used up" some of them

I wish I had a digital photo of one of my crew members saw's fighting a big fire near Ft Nelson about 18 years ago had to leave it behind as the tip did fail then went back to look for it after the fire moved through nothing left but the bar chain and 1/2 the motor! everything melted makes you really respect a forest fire.
