Was just fixing a Stihl 026pro for my dad. He straight gassed it by accident, so new jug, piston and ring. Since he's now into his 70's he commented how difficult it seems for him to start the saw. I pointed out the decomp valve and he said he'd never used it before . . . didn't know what it was for!!!

I don't know how to resolve the carrying the 90 while idling and my knuckles hitting the decomp issue. I'm not going to carry those saws a special way and they need to be runnin' while I carry them fallin'. May wind up pluggin' the hole. You think I'm cranky now, wait till I hit 70......

Needing the "white' inner plastic clutch piece for a 670 Champ. The piece that sits next to the oil pump drive gear. Any chance they are still available? The teeth on mine are pretty well chewed off! IPL # 501-83-17-01

501-83-17-01 same part on 272xp (maybe same as on 266,68) available separately or as part of the drum, rim, bearing assembly (either Husky or Oregon). Got a clutch up for replacement soon which isn't gone to be cheap.

Spent a few $$$ on saw stuff today......found a full gasket and seal set for a 111S for $25.00 and also bought a full gasket and seal set for a 630...same price delivered to my door.....then bought a full wrap set of Jonsered brand chaps to replace my old Labonville set which are a bit to short and not full wrap...and slightly chowdered.....fall is coming....

Wow....where in the world did you find that gasket set....never mind, probably should stay mum about such rare things. Even the factory gasket sets for the Husky 2100 are being reproduced...badly. I've used up the jug base gasket and the intake to jug gasket on a original set.....sucks to deplete such stuff, but I can't hold it forever.

Oh just on Ebay....both sets same place...had sets for the 910E and 70E too....$25.00 a set shipped....I don't have a real need for the 111S as mine runs perfect but you never know and I do have a NOS P&C kit setting here......something broke might show up reasonably priced......if it should I'll be a little more ready....

Man..... this place is deader than week old roadkill........Finished up a big dock project Fri.......Got 5-6 weeks off from regular work......be able to get my boat project completed and in the water, clean up/out the shop and get 6-7 saws done and out the door for others including Deans 90...gonna be a good up coming month!!!

Robin, Do you ever sleep? You post on here at all hours and still manage to do more projects than most.

LOL!! I do Eric...but occasionally will wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to go right back to sleep so I check a few things out on the 'puter..let the dogs out etc......in the winter, it's put a little more wood in the stoves...always have more than enough to do it seems....keeps me from getting bored...LOL!!!

They are similar but different too......Partner designed.....what kind of shape are they in?

Both start and run out neither one has been abused. Both have a few blemishes. for the age they are above average condition. Have not cut with either. Still have a few cover screws that need to be replaced.

So that would make the 590 a 5000 plus?o_Oo_Oo_O
Not really. A 490 is a 5000+ with a different top cover, air filter and filter cover but they didn't have a lower handlebar brace like a 5000.

A 590 is a 490 with a lower handlebar brace but it has its own CP 45mm top end on it. They may say Jonsereds on them but other then the top cover differences and paint there really Partner saws.

You done very well picking those 2 up.

Glad you joined in on this Mark...you have much more experience with both these saws than I do. I will add that now there is an aftermarket piston for the 490 but still nothing for the 590 and that the 590 had the same exact P&C as the Husky closed port 55.....so an AM P&C for the 590 would bring back a bunch of those saws too or convert the standard 55 into a serious cutting saw.....surprised the AM hasn't figured that one out yet....would sell a bunch I bet...
