Soooooooo......what exactly was wrong with the beeetch???

Kevin

I'm relieved it's running and it wasn't some basket case you had to spend a bunch of time on. But the suspense is killing me.

I'm going to say timing. The timing was so screwed up it couldn't run.

As an adult with ADD....I'll come back later for the answer/solution....can't take the suspense...lol

I did post a long dissertation in here about doing the timing on a 90.

Kevin
yup, and you sent me an email with pictures. There just seemed to be something a little hokey about the process and I didn't have some of the tools in the instructions.

OK Dean's here......Nice saw .....well packed...got it out on the bench...couldn't stand it....... had to look it over....did a few things that had nothing to do with running....put a 24 " Oregon on it to try...started from scratch with the carb...adjustments as arrived ....not good....returned to factory start up settings......pulled and pulled...finally fired....quit and flywheel went whirrrrrrrrrrrrrclunck.......hmmmmm......pulled the recoil....flywheel key was sheared.........installed a NOS key and torqued the flywheel and clutch (for good measure)....... fired right up ......ran it for a half hr...idling mostly......tuned it in to the point where I layed it on it's side and poured chain lube in with it idling........tuned it by ear.......sounded good......checked with my tach.......13,500 according to specs.......13,500 on the third WOT......cut 6 24" spruce cokies......returned to idle.....good!!

Still not completely satisified with carb response......not completely stable......ran the saw probably 40 min...ran good....mostly ......may need to run the carb through the USC......She's getting a "Coast o" Maine" break in...LOL!! she be good when she heads south agin".....nice saw Dean....you did a great job!!!!

Unbelievable!!! Thank you my friend, I appreciate the help.
I can't believe it's getting the coast O Maine break-in also. I'm imagining a sticker that gets put on the saw once it complete!!!
