Yes, it certainly appears to be a 110. Unless someone swapped a 110 lid on a 111 or 111S. Hope to have it later this week or early next week. I'll post here.

That's the thing though...PO's swapping in parts from other models because something was broken and it fits. Jonsereds old serial number system doesn't exactly help us out either.

I'm anxious to read what you find out! Another way to go at this is to talk to somebody high up that worked at Tilton. They know the story at least of what came into this country and how the models evolved.

Maybe spike60 (Bob) could shed some insight on this if he remembers or knows about the 110/111/111S. I'm not sure he was even a Jonsereds dealer back then. One thing for sure, those guys from the 60's/70's are rapidly perishing.

You gonna part it out? Is the carb and switch any good. Got one but the carb defies cleaning, rebuilding, holding pressure and vacuum. Switch busted.

Magnus Mattison (chainsawcollectors.se) has a very impressive serial number list for Jonsereds. That's one saw that he's lacking data on, however. If I recall correctly, the 110 was a one year only saw. Then the 111 for a year or two before they went to the 111S.

I know Magnus....joined his site, shared a few loggin' stories. Finding info on these saws is like dropping a penny down a mile deep well.

You're timeline sounds like what I've also heard.

make sense.....the 110 being made until '80......maybe in Europe, not sent here.

The problem with the old dealers around here was, they never sold many of these. One dealer in Fairlee. VT (who started selling Jonsereds in 1971) never sold a 110 or a 111 and only sold two 111s on special order. The delaer we had here in East Corinth died before I really got interested in the older stuff and probably wouldn't have remembered. But Kevin is right, Dan Tilton would probably know.

Or better yet for the big saws...someone who worked @Tilton in Portland, OR. Guaranteed the most 110/111/111S' sold out from there. Otherwise, I could be a lot more knowledgeable about buying from Tilton.....or maybe a few names to track down.

That sounds more like an appropriate timeline. I thnk Acres has the production start dates correct....but there's no way the 110 was made until 1980. We could sorta tell by the Jonsereds advertising lit from yr to yr, although the saw companies were notorious for showing pics of cobbled up saws to make a photoshoot deadline and weren't always accurate with respect to the actual production models. Still....it would probably give us dates. I never knew there was something like Loggers World & Chainsaw Age, or I'd have been all over those with subscriptions.

Lol! To tell ya the truth...I'd given up on a 111S. I thought for sure I'd never have a shot at one given their stratospheric prices, but Scott made it happen.

I've got some job stuff to log this season yet.....but I'm planning on maybe getting my wrists operated on this winter. Hopefully, I can get to the trees first.

More news on the 110/111 front! I finally got my hands on the very elusive 110! I have another saw in my collection that may be a 110, but without a serial number, it's difficult to tell whether it's a 110 or 111 with a one piece cover. Anyway, this one is filthy and partially disassembled, but I should have what I need to put it back together. It's serial number 701058, which is the earliest 110/111 on Magnus's list.

I've know about the saw for a few months; finally managed to work out a trade with the guy who had it.

Yeah, this is the earlier version of the full wrap. You can see that the leg that doesn't connect to the saw terminates fairly high up and the end is straight. On the later saws, the end is lower and curved.

I need to get some better pictures, but see attached for the later version.

One is a 111S and the other is either a 110 or 111. Haven’t figured it out yet.

I still maintain that the full-wrap handles were a NA contractor thing for the bigger Swedish saws that came into this country. Scott, did you ever find any full-wrap J'reds that originated and stayed in Europe?
