Sent 2 PM's with more info. 2nd PM I just called it shipped to help out some.
So what is folks using for the 2 spacers needed for the full wrap install on 670?
According to the 670 I just sold, only the lower block is really important, and @davidwyby might be fabbing up a few of those soon provided they’re the same as the ones on a 266.
Jred, early husky, then later 272 style. Then a homemade husky one on 266.
Probably just going to make something if something isnt out there to use.

What black paint have you guys found to work on the metal handles of the Jred's? Semi gloss or Gloss and what cans did you find to work good?

I use Rustoleum Satin Black.
Paint can wait IMHO. Full wrap has enough on it anyway. Half the one that lost almost all of the paint.
Going to piece it together in one post from yesterday.
Now to redneck me some full wrap brackets to work.
Got my pieces cut to make brackets.
To cool my poulans that use a lot of 2 series parts happens to have the full wrap fasteners. 1 in each saw. Good thing I have a bunch of parts saws on hand. These things list for $5.79 each through husky. The longer ones.
First try rednecking. Used a old 2 series inner spike to make a strong outer brace deal.
Good enough for now.
Whats left of a inner 2 series spike. Then grind to fit slot.

I always thought that black paint J'reds used on the aluminum tubing was probably anodized...or at least powder coated(if you can even do that on aluminum?).
Use whatever matches I guess....like Eric's suggestion of the Rustoleum. They say to use etching primer first, before the paint. Tubing has to be cleaned with solvent and then rinsed with water....let dry.

You can powder coat aluminum and it works well.
For wet coat ,the aluminum should be roughed up with sandpaper a self etching primer applied and then a top coat.
You can see by looking at the handles they haven't been roughed up and there is no primer. The paint will not last long without proper surface prep.
I worked in a plant that made structural aluminum parts and light fixtures and we used a nasty self etching primer for outdoor lighting and poles. It worked well.

I work on a paint line for siding and flat stock. And we have to apply chromic acid to etch the aluminum for the paint to stick.
Chromic acid is very nasty stuff. Known to cause cancer.
It sure is. I worked in a heavy stamping and plating plant and the last strike plating a pickup truck bumper is chromic acid.
We stamped and plated 12.000 per day.
We can paint anywhere from 32000-75000 in a 12 hour shift depending on the gauge and width.
Around 750000 a week on 12s and 500000 on 8s.
Anyone know a good source here in the states for an oil seal for my 2186 ?

i bought a bunch of parts for my 2188 from that page. if you look up the part mumber you can call them too. i have found that its faster to get the parts from them than a dealer and they are cheaper too because there isnt a dealer mark up or extra shipping charge if you order more than 50 worth of stuff its free shipping
