Haayyoo my fellow jonny junkies. I bout got that 2163 fixed up real nice. :) I have a few questions about some things.
The chain oil cap is a bit busted and it leaks me oil out ever so gently. Will lowes carry the gas and oil caps for this beings they sell the huskys. Is the 2163 the 362xp clone or what model from husky is the same in other words. And one last thing does this model have an unlimited coil?
2003 jonsered 2163. 62cc
Thanks anybody if you have the time.
:)

I pulled the following quotes from another thread - http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/137889.htm - figured the info might be useful.

This is a list of the saws that share the same internals.
Others Jonsereds were based on Husky models.

2152=353
2153=346xpNE
2156=357xp
2159=359
2165=365SP
2171=372xp
2186=385xp
2188=390XP
2139=338XPT
2135=334T
2238=240
2234=235
2240=440
2245=445
2250=450
2255=455
2141=340
2145=345
2150=350
2147=346XP (old)
2149=351
2065=365 (non-SP)
2063=362XP (old)
2163=362XP (new)
2071=371XP
2050=49
2045=45

That sure covers most of it!

I have just one (unimportant) addition; 2041=40 (the plastic cased one - there was an older one with a mag case). Similar is the case with the 340.

The "based" on (and made at the Husky factory) models are;

670=266se/xp
630=162se
625=61.

The coil is black. Thanks for the info guys.
I'm glad I can finally get some trigger time on a real saw!!!
She runs real strong and very mean. I can't wait to get her squared away so she doesn't leak. But meanwhile she can make some cuts when the little saws can't til the bill.

Been working on cleaning up my 2163.
Found that case gasket is bad under the muffler and leaking bar oil.
Going to have the case split.
Just found a new org, p/c for the saw too!

Thinking ceramic bearings with the squish band cut

I'm trying hard to resist putting a 75cc p/c on this saw.

LOL!! Oh just do it Jack.....you know you want to...Hell we all want you to!!!!

910E or EV is on my bucket list....really like those saws...ran PBs along with a bunch of others.. his and mine and thought his 910 cut the best of the lot......

The 670 and 910E belong to a friend of mine (even more of a friend since I ended his 1.5 year search for a coil for his beloved 910E last week - he bought it new in the early eighties and is strongly attached to it). I was very impressed with the 910's torque, and how "modern" it was compared to my same period 045 Super Electronic. I was even more impressed by that Champ, that thing was very smooth and strong too.

The 2163 is pretty much the first truly powerful chainsaw ive ran so far To think about it being ported or hopped up anymore than it is makes me grinn really big. From what I'm used to this thing sounds ported already!!

Got the 2163 all put back together.
New stickers and handle bar.

Will be sending it out soon for mods.

Jonsered 820 Bow Chainsaw Awesome Chainsaw 81cc - See Video | eBay

If anyone is upset about the link being posted here, I have a questionfor you--Did you think and seriously believe that a Jonsered 820 with a bow bar and heated handles, in good condition, listed on feePay was going to be a sleeper?

One of my goals in life is to be able to take pictures as nice a jwalker's.
And since I'm jealous of his pics, I hope he will be jealous of my 2163W.
(I know he likes those heated handles ;) )

I was looking at the difference in port size of 2163 (top pict) and the 2165 cyl. The 2163 seems so small.

While I have not run this 2163, it might be better to go for the bigger displacement p/c after all.

I am not sure about the large mount. I know the 2163 was available on the west coast after Tilton stopped offering it, so those may have been large mount. The IPL from 2007 shows all 2163 having the small mount with the front adjuster.

Hey guys picked up a Jonsereds 801 in a trade of some spare quad parts I had laying around. It came with a 32" bar on it.

Couple questions. Is a 32" bar to big for this saw or will it pull it fine, we could really use this bar as our biggest right now is only at 24".

Also the bar is an Oregon bar at 3/8 pitch. Doesn't list the gauge or how many links. We weren't sure what gauge the bar was so my brother went to a Husky shop (without the bar and saw cuz I had it at home and was at work) and they gave him an Oregon chain with 105 links and .058 gauge cuz he wasn't sure of the gauge The old chain was a Stihl which is pretty much gone but it does have a 6 on the bottom guide tooth, does that mean it is a .063 gauge? We had an identical 32" Stihl bar that showed as a .063 and it looked identical to the Oregon so we think it is a .063 gauge. Figured I'd ask someone on here what they thought.

Also we tried to get the chain on and it is to short and when I looked the 32" Oregon chain up it shows it as 105 links with a 7 tooth sprocket, but my saw has a 8 tooth sprocket on it. Are we okay to just get another link added to the chain? Also the Stihl bar showed 105 links for a chain, does how many teeth your saw's sprocket (the one by the clutch) have effect that?

Thanks for any help.

Jake
