Mill duty.....I like it!!

Yeah, na Kev- probably wont be in the mill- dang saw is like brand new once cleaned up!
Well it wont be in the mill with that whacking great lump of a Stihl bar on it anyhow- maybe for smaller bars.

Saw cleaned up real nice, bar still has 95% paint on it, mill cleaned up and is fully functional- but no upright handle on it, its a Mk111 so maybe they did not come with, or were an option? I have no idea- never had a Granberg Alaskan- and have done very little milling.

Me either....just never had the opportunity. But big cc saws glide through the biggest stuff, just like with trees. Bailey's was selling modern Granberg mills when I started loggin' . Gotta be one of the first there was out there. Granberg was also selling filing jigs for square-file chain. I have one. Too much pot metal and failure over the years. They stopped making it sometime in the '80s. Impossible to find one now. I participated in a couple of AS threads about it even with pics.

I need someone with a small milling machine and I could make up square-file jigs out of their current model......which really hasn't changed in almost 45 years.

Lots of us clean saws before sending. I don't want to pay for the weight of dirt and don't expect anyone else to either. But there are a lot of indifferent slobs out there.....

I used to collect vintage vacuums.....people most often send them full of dirt!! WTF? Would ya send someone used toilet paper??

I go for a cold start video, if possible. And always a bonus if there's pic of exhaust and inlet with the piston/ring(s). But some owners you don't want taking things apart......

Oh...LOL! Well, I quit screwing around and doing it piecemeal. An old dealer died and had 45 years' worth of Electrolux stock. I got it all. Like 75+ vacs and all the repair and accessory stuff with them. I just got them all in a shed and organized a few months ago. And it's like 'Now what??' And that doesn't include what I collected over the years. Those are in the house mostly downstairs.

Part of my repair clinic will be restoring those on order only. I'll always have one out and for the ready when the hordes(hopefully) come in with their broken junk.

Maybe he ran out of interest in cleaning the second....maybe he traded for them in the first place and got whatever. I don't even buy anything anymore unless it has some verifiable, interesting provenance.

Need to know if a front handle from a 372xp fits the 2171.

What other saws might share the same front handle?

I was tempted by the condition of this saw. I adjusted the spring and cleaned the clutch side. Tomorrow is the first launch. The heating switch is broken, we'll see what position it is in 451EV
