Hi. Working on one of my 621’s and putting new crank seals in. Now that I have the fly wheel off, does the 621 gain anything from advancing the timing. If so, when I put the points plate back on which way do I rotate it. Clockwise or counter. The plate is slotted so i assume it can be done. Thanks.

Looking to tips on removing a worm gear from a 2094. I was hoping a 3/4” pipe coupler work work but the gear is a bit bigger.

Got any photos of said worm gear? Is it plastic or bronze?
Pressed on bronze worm gear is going to drive the oil pump constantly off of the crankshaft and not via the flanges on the clutch drum drive- so will have constant oil delivery, even at idle.

It is bronze. I’ll try a 1” or 1.25” couple to see if that will fit on. In my experience couplers work good for pulling off these style gears.
So it has no milled slots top side to engage the clutch drum and is press fit to the crank?
Dont think I have ever personally seen such on a 2094- have seen the bronze gears on 281's and the like that did not have the moulded in cover washer the plastic ones do- but not a press fit gear in this size of saw.

When I first saw the sticker on the recoil I was thinking that it looked like an older design. I should have stuck with my first instinct. 😊

As an older model, I would place it as a 490 since the oil filler cap on the 450 is a bit higher.

Thanks for the correction! I appreciate it when you more experienced J-red guys help to keep me headed in the right direction. :)

Only Jonsered I have is this old red one - does anyone have an original fuel cap I could buy as someone has fitted a brass pipe thread fitting to it- which obviously isn’t original.
Is it a common theme with Jonsereds in using pipe fittings to fix them….?!?

I bought the Husqvarna brand 372xp full wrap handle with large felling dogs but haven't tried putting it on yet, I've been trying to find out what modifications I would need to do to make it work.
I quickly fabbed this adapter/extension up from some 2.4mm/.095 aluminum I have and a couple fasteners. I'm sure you can visualize the backside.

The forward bottom mount is the same for both saws.
