My 670 is irritating me. It cuts fine when bucking logs, but when I try to cut at an angle it does not cut well at all. The thing I can't figure out is when I try to cut a log from underneath (with the top of the bar) it has no power whatsoever, and the engine cuts in and out. How it knows I am cutting with the top of the bar is beyond me.

I have a carb kit for it but I dont think the carb is the problem. Any ideas?

fuel?

It sounds like it's not getting fuel. Maybe cracked fuel line, fuel filter plugged etc...:hmm3grin2orange: :biggrinbounce2: ;)

I am putting my money on the carb boot

for 100 Alex..
Why can't we do a game show with a hot babe? Vanna can I have a B? Vanna can I have a J
Figured I had better ask for those two letter seperate. LOL

Take off the recoil and air shroud and remove the kill switch wire from the coil. I'll bet the cutting out is a pinched kill switch wire that only grounds out when you pull against the buffers.

The most common reason is misrouted wire in the air shroud that gets chafed and pinched in the upper right recoil screw.

I have also seen bad kill switches act this way.

Try this and see if it solves the up cut issue and then see if you also have other issues.
