So I've got one of those husqvarna combined oil one end and fuel mix the other, it was cheap on gumtree so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't notice the spouts were back to front so the labels on the spouts were swapped. Not sure how much went in but I was silly and tried to start it.

I swilled and dumped 2 tanks of petrol to clean it out and got it running a little smoky but running. I did my cuts and turned it off. 30 minutes later I tried it again and it just kept wetting the plug so I pulled the carb thinking that little gauze might be blocked but nope the carb was fine. I put it all back together.

As I tipped it from its side onto its base I heard a little air hiss/squelch and so I checked the fuel tank for a vacuum but it was fine but I think that little noise was the thick oil leaving the tank vent. A few tugs later and it popped back into life.

So I swapped nozzles over on the combination can so I won't do it again. I may even just write petrol on the side. Didn't really want to be back into the ms170 this quickly but luckily it turned out OK.

First time an hopefully the last time.
