Ohio born and proud! We have a big old knotty Buckeye in the church parking lot right in the heart of Akron,30"DBH. I only burn the trees I cut down for my customers ..... can you say Acer Saccharinum!

Burnin buckeye is like eatin a cardinal. Just ain't right! Sacralidge I say! It's the state tree man! You should bend a knee and worship the thing, not cut it down!!!!

If ya can't tell I'm from Ohio!!!

Ohio sucks. There needs to be another MI-OH war, we want Toledo back, but you have to keep the crappy parts of it. Go Spartans.

If there is another War, and we win, they HAVE to keep Detroit this time, no trading out of it!

Go Blue!

At least U of M is better than the Lions. Its pretty bad that the best football tema in the state of MI right now is Muskegon High School.

I dont keep up on it that much but are they doing any better than the Browns. I watch al my buddies get dissapointed every Monday.Myabe they should be tailgating at the high school games.:dizzy:

Another BUCKEYE here..Never burned it though, do have one small Buckeye tree in the yard. And by the way, Didn`t Toledo beat Michigan earlier this fall,:) They couldn`t beat them in football, how they gonna win a war?
GO BUCKS!!!

I have burnt Buckeye outside in a campfire but never in a wood burner. It gives off a lot of light ashes that float up out of the fire.

Born and grew up in Woodville, ohio, lived in Gibsonburg, ohio. Now lived south of green Springs, ohio.Love it here. Its almost like southern ohio where we live at now.Go buckeyes!!!!!!!!:yourock: :yourock: :greenchainsaw:

Lifelong resident from south of Findlay. My neighbor used to smoke. We used to joke that if he threw his cigarette but in the woodshed after we had been cutting Buckeye it would catch on fire. One day he put a but on a pile of semi-dry Buckeye shavings off the splitter, and we had a heck of a time putting it out. Fire starter only! After a year the stuff is about the same weight as balsa like they used to make the cool (but fragile) little glider planes with. As I said before, if we get any (and we don't look for it), we put it in a separate pile for kindling/firestarter. Of course there are the old tales about keeping a Buckeye in your pocket to ward off rheumetism (sp), cancer, etc.

Who are the Spartans? Is that a volleyball team?

OH - I0 GO BUCKS!

Illinois transplant about 17 years ago. Anyone care to try and tackle the differences between Buckeye - Chestnut - or Horse Chestnut?!?

Had a Chestnut go down in the August wind. Cut and split it.......but I can tell already it's not going to be good!
