How do you like that sentence structure? (!) While LIDCO, Ltd may have the resources to take over the entire consumer user market it'll never happen if they can't hire someone to use the English language properly! :jawdrop:

I got one too, It's funny that they think anyone on this site would want a Chinese chainsaw :monkey:

sorry I broke the rules, didnt really think any of the moderators would mind me posting this crap peddlers ad that he pm`ed me.

I have plenty of gripes against Chinese products and manufacturing processes in general, that I won't get started on.

But also they are notorious counterfeiters and copiers. I personally have seen them at work at high end art fairs collecting info. For example one year at BAM there was a Chinese couple posing as a fashion photographer/model. The model would pose in front of booths so the photographer could get a good shot of the artist's original work. Seem fairly innocuous at first, but after a while one noticed that they were selectively going to all the best booths and photographing designs. They spend half a day at what I personally would call product espionage.

Chinglish

This doesn't surprise me much. And with the way people buy things now it is possible that they will be able to sell a few things. However I would prefer not to be the one doing the selling.

Take a stroll thru just about any store and look at where the stuff is manufactured. Why? Because it is cheaper.

The chainsaw might be terrible, but it might also be not too terribly bad for the price. I have repaired a small generator (made in china) that runs pretty darn well! Call it a extended quality test to see how it holds up...

Don't know if any of you have seen those "Titan" generators, pressure washers, water pumps and such on craigslist. Couple weeks ago, I decided to get to the bottom of them. They looked like a Honda engine but were they? So I called Titan. They told me all their engines were made in South Carolina by Liquid Combustion Technology. So I surfed their website. You have to dig a bit.
It says right on their homepage 30 years of experience in world class engine manufacturing and importing from overseas markets. Then it says LCT has a dedicated team of professional Engineers, QC Engineers, Inspectors, Logistics and Sourcing representatives based in our downtown offices in Shanghai, China. LCT's Shanghai Team has dedicated staff members in our factories and suppliers on a full time basis.

They're getting real sneaky. They don't actually tell you where they're made, you have to figure it out.

I'm betting it will get worse.

The world's greatest political and people manipulator, China.

How good is your patent or trademark there?

There was a time "Made in Japan" meant poor quality but it has passed. Japanese seem to be better at consistent quality steel than are we. And their engineers do in one simple step what takes ours 10 Goldbergesque steps to attain. The Chinese aren't there yet but give them some time.

I agree, but I won't give them time on my dime when I can help it.

I don't recall Japan being the land of knockoffs during their rise to economic prosperity. Nor do I recall Japan setting the value of their money. I know, different country different time. I just don't like the current Chinese way of doing business nor how they are trying to become part of the world economy. Until China can actually invent something of value, their IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) laws will be weak an unenforced. For these reasons I make effort to buy "other than Chinese".
