The right hand protection device HVA has is better. Same funkton, but it reacts on the wrist instead.

Mange, do you have pictures or a link ?

Here you go!!

This is not the correct saw, but you get the picture ;)
I hope you get it, course I have no idea how to explain in Eng.

Thanks for the pictures Mange.

What is the handle connected to, is it somekind of a switch or the chain itself ?

Looks like it could be a minor PITA in some positioning situations, but at least you can still use the top of the bar.

This is a good thing.

Yes I like that, smart piece of protection. ! ;)

Is it made and sold by the saw manufacturer or as an after-market item to be installed on any saw?

To Mange:

As was said, looks like a better idea than the bar thing, but unless you have a chain brake to attach it too your out of luck. Wouldn't work very well on my old saws. Who sells it? Do you have a link to it? Thanks. Lewis.

This is a Husqvarna product and patent.
Not available as an aftermarket add-on via a third party. Too bad, it should be however, as it is simple enough and could potentially reduce the need for some other safety gear.

I doubt it can be orderd unless it is for the models the goverment here bye's and even then I do not think it will be exported.

I can try finding a few, but I think it will be hard.
