Amoungst My Saws........Fool That Has Too Many!!!
I'm just wondering what kind of KILLER deals on chainsaws the readers out there have been able to get. Personally, these are recent deals I've come across: Stihl 044 ,that had only 3 or 4 tanks of gas put thru it, ( non EPA ) xtra full chisel chain, 1 gal. bar oil, 1 bottle of 2 stroke oil and saw case for $275. 2 new Shindaiwa 377's $240 for each. ( retail is $387 ). A never even fired up Shindaiwa 357 top handle climbing saw ( serves as a backup for my Stihl 020t ) for $250:blob1:

Let's see....all right, some of my better deals:

Jonsered 111-Super, needs a recoil spring and a good clean up: $35

Stihl 032ave, needed shock mounts and a muffler: $10

Got a Poulan 306, XX, and a Homelite VI-123 for free. Most just neeed little parts like fuel lines.

And finally, got a SXL-925 for $10. All it neeed was gas. :)

Got a 311Y Er 026 off Ebay for 150.00 And darn It was a 2001 model just needed a new chain. :D

My finds over the last year:

Stihl 066 - $150 (powerhead only - very good)
Stihl 038 - $125 (powerhead only - excellent cond.)
Stihl 044 - $150 (average)
Stihl 026 - $175 ("creampuff". I found this saw right after I paid a Stihl dealer $400 for a brand new one.)
Husky 41 - $5 (parts saw from garage sale but it ran after I blew out the clogged fuel line but it didn't idle real good, I put in on EBAY "as is" and the idiots bid it up to $175!!! I told the winning buyer it wasn't worth what he paid and volunteered to cut the price in half or give him a 10 day satisfaction guarantee. He took it at half price and left me positive feedback.)
Stihl 046 - $375 (like new, but I paid too much on EBAY. Right after I bought it I found the one below at a pawn shop.)
Stihl 046 - $200 (excellent cond.)

I passed on a few 064 at about $250/ea in average shape and a David Bradley for $5. I also passed on a 038 Magnum "creampuff" that a pawn shop wanted a whopping $375 for.

I'm still looking for an 028 Super AV "creampuff".

got a 028 for helping a fella work around his house a day. great chili and nothin to the work. by the way ive got a super 028
and the woodboss 028. i really think the standard saw is my favorite.both good an steady ,but the woodboss has as much or mabe more power under cut as the super.both are in excellent shape with fairly new sharp chain. go figure

we were doing some tree work in a small city when i saw a brand new craftsman sitting on top of a garbage can. just to make sure i was not stealing it i asked the homeowner what the story was with the saw. he said it was junk and did not cut any more. you want it you can have it. the only thing wrong with it was the chain was dull. marty
(my partner thought i was garbage picking)
