Komet spikes

Anyone have any experience with the green komet spikes?

they look pretty comfy, and bulky

I'm in need of a serious upgrade, currently on triple thick T pads

i bought a pair of the komets (mine are blue) and they fell apart on me within 2 months. not good for $380. the bolts are always getting loose and the bolts on the outer shell holding on the metal on fell out too. they are not rugged but if you can somehow tip toe in the tree and not abuse (and by abuse i mean use) they might work for you. also if your a lightweight and have skinny legs they might be good.

lightweight yup, durable nope.

its looks like the green ones may be more durable? i may be wrong i have never tried either.... I think i will go with geckos or caddies....any other suggestions?

The carbon fibre gecko's oldirty, that might be your ticket right there. For 580$ or whatever those should come with some sort of warranty but I'm sure they dont. That wasnt a crack on us normal sized people back there was it?? "Jaw's", lol.

I will put a plug in for the caddies, I just ordered mine today. I have never worn them so take it for what it's worth, I just like to talk, lol.

For real, I was in the same situation (Geiko's insurance or caddies) and went with the caddies, bro ordered a set too, just from the research I have done. Heard the Gecko's aren't as comfortable or durable.

I am going to be pounding mine onto my set of aluminum Bashlins and my bro is putting them on his titaniums.

Are you swayin' yet or do I have to put in a deeper notch?

I've had caddies long enough that I'm on my third relining of the foam rubber. Bulletproof.

Having said that, don't take away my Gecko's! Love them. I know they're not as tough, but they are easier and more comfortable to use. Worth the money.

I got the steel insert velcros. Loved 'em from the moment I strapped them on...until I left my shirt tucked in on a hemlock one day. Got just enough sawdust down the pants to wear the hair off my legs where the pad meets the shin. It's still missing, I'd post a pic if I had a camera handy. Those spikes hurt like heck for the next few days. I'm thinking once these guys are shot, I'll upgrade to the caddies. I know I saw a pic of them at some point but does anyone know they're real name?
