The hard disk will never crash, the OS will NOT need updating, it's virus proof, and.. will still work in 200 years time...


It's been sitting at work for 10 years UNUSED..... A bit dusty... but.. has a few thousand IPLS and service manuals of Echo, Homelite (Please don't tell RBW...), POULAN and Stihl... up to about 1996.


My boss said - you take it - it's not coming back!.. Cool...

Old school h311, rembering the first desk I had in my shop had a parts and service book shelf system that was about 3 feet wide, you could trade out 3-hole punched books by the metal binders that locked into the base. Andy looks younger then he is, he rembers the first Micro-fish he ever saw, I'm sure :cheers:

I finally got my techs fully converted to the computer about 6 months ago. I never thought that they were going to give up the fiche! It was worse than trying to get a child to give up a soother. We still need it for some of the older stuff though.

Another lesser known use for which they are the cats meow is reading scales on fish to age them. I'm a fisheries biologist and that is THE ticket for telling how old your fish might be. If anyone up in the PNW has a salmon and want to know how old he might be, Andy has you covered. :popcorn: :popcorn:
