All of the Stihl dealers that I have visited in my area all seem to have the exact same price and use Stihl-printed sales tags as the other. Ask them how much and they will point at the price tag. opcorn:
Thanks for popping in, GregIt's funny how many stories get started. We used to purchase units from Husqvarna Lawn and Garden out NC when we had a shop in TN. Believe me there isn't some kind of "Magic West Coast Pricing" When we have sales we're working with single digit margins. So if you want to tell your customers the truth. Tell them we're just willing to make less per unit than you are. Not to far in the past we were the largest Stihl dealer on the west coast. Of course the mail order became an issue when other dealers pitched a fit about our pricing They told us we needed to sell for MSRP. We tried this and every dealer out there under cut our prices and we couldn't make a sale on their saws. It was way easier to police us than all the dealers. So we learned real quick, the market isn't a level playing field. This eventually split the sheets between us and them. After that fiasco, we decided to go with naming our rock bottom price and if any body wants to hang with that, more power to them.
