I have a customized Springfield 1911 full-sized "loaded model" stainless. I had it bead blasted with a nice satin finish, I hate that shiny flasy ####. Had the trigger set at a crisp 4.5 lbs, the front strap checkered, and the throat polished and everything de-burred. Springfield's custom shop is AWESOME, they are top rate. I don't have a pic rail on mine but I'm not into the "tacticool" crap either

Springfield custom is a nice piece of hardware, greatly under rated... I would put it up against any of the other customs Kimber/Les Baer/Wilson Etc. Although I do like my trigger down closer to the 3 range

If you take the trigger down to 3 pounds and you ever have to neutralize a bad guy, you could find your arse in court over that...the bas guy's lawyer or his family's lawyer could try yo make it look like you A/D'd. I forget what the number is, maybe it's 5.5 pounds, that you never want to go under in LE. Really you probably would be safest what something like a Sig DAK type trigger group. Just my $.02.

Haha you should see my 700 custom thats at around 2 lbs breath on that SOB and it will fire. But I can shoot you in the eye at 300 meters without a problem.

Incorrect trigger pull is one of the most common mistakes made even by knowledgeable shooters, probably ranks right up there with improper grip fit on a handgun. The lighter trigger means you have to use less force to fire which results in less operator error in trigger pull. The biggest problem is you have to train and be cognizant of keeping finger off the trigger until you fire... Which you should be anyways.

Honestly I have been to tons of training classes, seminars, competitions ETC ETC and never heard anyone voice concern of light trigger pull causing you to be marked as a tackleberry. Maybe if you were a basic street cop without appropriate training or reason to have it I would understand but not in a tactical officer case.

By the way been there done that and it wasnt an issue
