Our neighbor had a big locust and a poplar come down in his pasture during the big storm in July and he asked me if I wanted them yesterday so I thought it would be a good time to really try out the new multifunction hitch that I built for the garden tractor. Worked like a charm.

Awesome! Gotta love a JD.

Do you get good traction on dirt with the rear chains?

I have some shipping to my house today, hoping to do some woods hauling this weekend.

Nice 318. Can we get pics of your hitch system?

Junkfxr, I hate to be "that guy", but you're liable to end up with your tractor on top of you if you keep pulling from the top of that hitch. Pull off the lower arms only, even if it means not getting the lift you're looking for.

Sorry to bust on you, but I knew someone who got killed under a tractor from doing very much the same thing, and would hate for it to happen to you.

Thanks for the pics, Junkfxr. I tend to agree with Steve NW WI on the "back-flip" issue, but from the initial pics it's hard to see the connection between the log and the lift chain. I'm assuming it's secured at the bottom of the hitch as well.
