Due to that fact that I'm a cheap SOB I give wavefreak permission to damage my lawn and whatever else needed to get rid of that damn tree I'm to cheap to hire a tree removal company to handle.

I'm going to see if I can hook up with a tree service or two. I really don't want to be one of those hacks that goes around taking jobs from guys trying to make a living. When the cheap SOB pops up, I'll be very careful to cover my ass. I try to keep it covered anyway. It's not a pretty sight.
 
The fact that you posted tells me you know what could potentially go wrong and that you would be open to liability...so trust your gut, work smart and keep your health and your house, car, bank account, children's trust fund, dog, cat and hamster.

Have you checked into liability insurance for yourself? Usually the rate is based on how much you make per year doing the work you are getting insured for. It may be worth while for you.
