Item number 29404...$15 (2 C batteries required, not included)

Works on lines up to 2.2 mm.

Hey Sean,

This is an awsome little piece of equipment. I purchased one a couple of weeks ago, while I was placing another order, and it's a blast to use.

It used to me a minute, or so, to stuff my string back in the bag, and now it only takes seconds. It actually does a pretty good job of flaking the string back into the bag without causing in tangles in the line.

I know it's not made for this, but it's also a blast to shoot the string at your kids, like silly string ;>)

SilverBlue,
The Ontario stores ordered a bunch on Wednesday. Should see them in a couple days.

Baummer,
I do the same thing (shooting the string at people). I said we could sell it with 50 ft of zing-it and market the thing as reusable funny string.

Got one from vermeer last week. I had to give the item # Sean posted previously. Cool gadget! It needs a mod so it can be used mid line. Looks like a simple slice with the dremmel will do it but I'm scared I'll screw it up.
I had to re-cut and burn the ends of my zing it, I had a fat ball melted on the end and it didn't want to feed in, cut it, melted it, and flattened the end, and that baby sucks right in.

Greg,
I think Tom D mentioned modifying his for mid-line use. Tobe modified his by trying the obvious cutting a straght slot across the top, but the line keeps sliding back out of that slot, so don't try that. I'm someone will come up with "the way".

Sean,

I took my son's scroll saw and cut a small slot on the back side of the string cap. This way, I can hold the string against the front of the cap as the string is feeding through with no problems.

I'm sure Tobe has another string cap he can try this on.

Mike

Mike, does this mean your throw string problems are finially over?TK.

Hey TK,

I think you've been putting a spell on my "Fling-It" at the TCC's. I've been climbing some 100'+ Cottonwoods and Sycamores down here, and guess what, no problems with the string, EVEN WHILE SHOOTING IT WITH MY "BIG SHOT". Go figure!

You'll have to get a Line Tamer, it's pretty amazing how fast this thing will stack your string back in your sack.

You're on your own this weekend, Buddy. I've had an offer to do some "trad" out in the Rocky's, so I'm goin' for it!

Good luck with the Comp. I'll be thinking of you guys while climbing some 14ers. But then again, maybe not ;>)

A buddy of mine just got back from the chicago basin, made 4 out of 5 summits said it was awsome.. Keep your eye on the wheather. So that is this week end you will NOT be competeing?

Here is my way, one has to remove the top first.

Mine doesn't work well with 2.2mm, it needs a motor with more torque less rpm.

It seem like the battery gets drained and requires a few seconds, then it starts working again.

The anal orifices (twists) stop it quick.

If you will take a rotary tool and grind out the inside of the cap where the roller can open more the Line Tamer works MUCH better.

It is supposed to already have the inside ground out. We've had a few come back that didn't have the grinding mod done to them. If you suspect that your cap doesn't have its inside ground out, please call Johnny Carter at 1-800-525-8873 ext 231.

How about a more powerful motor? The smallest drag on the line and it can't pull it.
