Log ox for bucking?

It’s basically a peavey with a leg that will elevate the log once it’s ready to be bucked after being drug to the road I’m wondering if the leg is actually strong enough to lift a tree

I think they are overrated as a lifting device. Good for straight 8 inch stuff, that's about it. I have 2 and rarely use them. A good peavey/cant hook is a great woodmans helper though
 
They work OK for a nice straight logs, but just be aware that they roll the log as they lift so if you have any branches and limbs sticking out they don’t work well. I built a pivoting foot for my cant hook that works a little better but I rarely use it to lift a log
