That should work great on all wood I work with a guy that has something similar now I want one
The log wizard wouldn't work as well btw

I'd have to try one before I shelled out 600.00 for it. In the video, they show a waist high thin bark poplar log. I'd like to use it on an old oak log that'd been skidded through the dirt, which would be why I'd want to get the bark off.

Flymats , i would think that is gonna dull it fast with the dirt and sand . What do you think bout a electric hammer with a big wide flat bit that you could resharpen your self on a bench grinder ? I use a plastic wedge on my small logs i turn ,after its mounted on the lathe .

Thanks for all replies!

First, bigjohn, it seems solid and effective, but the wood from the video had rather thin bark. Nice to know Your friend is happy with it and uses it for different tree sorts. I also have a Log Wizard, it takes time and is hard work.
Mike, agree with that, would like to see an video with other woods. How come Baileys don't sell it ie?
John, do You have an video I can see with Your solutions? And, the second solution You are talking about, is it homemade and conected to the tractor by PTO?

I'm inclined to agree with both JohnT & Mike Van.
I really think that the video is showing it in the best light. There is no be all end all for removing bark, the only way to get it done right involves sweat!!

Here's the BEST way I've found to deal with dirty logs,

You don't need high pressure, but the higher the volume the better! It's cleans the dirt off instead of driving it deeper into the bark...
