I been wearing a protos for about a year now, works good fits my head well with lots of adjustability and is ansi approved. I wear clear safety glasses pretty much all the time with it as I hate getting crap in my eyes when looking up with the mesh up

Well , my SkullBucket was almost 100$ after exchange , my Royer chainsaw boots are handy 400$ , my rubber chainsaw boots are 150ish , good chainsaw pants are 175$ and up plus a Husky/Stihl helmet system (not the homeowner stuff) is 150ish so when compared to some gear it's not really off the mark .
I look at it as "Designer" workwear lol
I have a brand new hardhat , it's uncomfortable after wearing it for a couple of hours , 50$ wasted so now I have to replace it ...

yep for something that will last 3-5 years it's not a huge expense when you think about it.

I tried on a timber tuff helmet at fleet farm 39.95 it’s all they had n I know timber tuff is cheap stuff but wasn’t the worst... the ear muffs didn’t feel tight enough other then that seemed alright

anyboy use one or have preferences on what to look for? I’d like to get one after having a stick slap me in the eye and I’m still having a hard time seeing clearly after 4 days.. I always wear ear muffs with ear buds but never eye protection are any better then the other?

My problem....I sweat like a hog and the face shield rusts completely out in no time, like within a month, if I am cutting on a regular basis. The replacement shields are expensive so it is not cost effective for me to own one. I use the aluminum skull bucket now and like it; i just don't have face protection anymore.

Sound like you need to use automotive rust proof on your face shield lol.

One of our skull buckets has the screen on it, it’s a cheap easy one to replace too.

I was looking for a Skullbucet screen like Sceans mentioned and the first link I click on https://www.honeywellsafety.com/Products/Eye_and_Face_Protection/Faceshield_Screens.aspx?site=/usa shows that they have some stainless steel mesh available for regular hardhats .

I was out cutting all day , but I had the idea to take a hard hat I liked with a good 6 point suspension and ratchet that I liked borrow the ears and face shield from the Efco (efco used green devil safety parts for ears and face shield) to make their helmet .

I like that much better ears that stay down , a face shield and a more comfortable suspension and ratchet.

who makes a better one ? because the stihl ratchet I had worked better than the Oregon I have now.
I do notice Stihl has 3-4 helmets out now some look like the branded Oregon

I wear a Skull Bucket with good safety glasses & plugs or this with the muffs.
