I had a dream last night that I was tagging along with a logging crew. They were logging a big national type park.

I got to the meeting point with my F150 and a couple saws and they asked me why I brought such a small truck. No way was I skidding logs out with that little thing.

Anyway, it appears that I was the main transport because off we went through the main park entrance with 4 or 5 loggers and their equipment in the back of my truck. The park was a mad house, it appears there were several logging companies in attendance as well as a pile of tourists... the rangers were directing traffic, trying to keep the loggers out of the tourist areas and visa versa. At one intersection, a ranger didn't want to let me through. I said, "Well the rest of the loggers are up there." and he said, "Oh, I guess it's ok then." and on I went.

That's when I woke up. Good thing too. I didn't have to get pile driven by any falling trees.

Too bad we can't "connect" our dreams via the internet...

I frequently have dreams of flying. If I could "connect" to your dreams, I could do some helicopter logging for ya! :)

where I was cutting Friday, and will be for the nex 2 weeks or so, was like a dream. Way deep in a big holler. Super steep. First we're working out the SMZ where there are scattered giant poplars and hemlocks (leaving those... for the adelgids). Its like a troll wonderland, beautiful little creek with big moss covered boulders, little undergrowth at all, plenty of residual timber to protect the watershed. Punky soil soft, probably about a foot of soft duff. Then we'll bomb the rim, clearcut the poplar perimeter of the cove, all 45'd out for the loggers to pull, just so.

Really dream like. Being down there in that light spring drizzle all foggy and all, most beautiful place I've been in a while, thats why I'm a cutter.

Plus, bombing that poplar rim will be fun too.

So there I was in the middle of Sweden, surrounded by hot blonds holding Jonsered saws.................Wait, maybe it wasn't a logging dream. :)
