Does anyone know what saw brand and model is the longest running model?.
I know the Echo CS 60s is 40 years old and is still made...Bob

I have a McCulloch 1-42 that still runs after 40+ years. Or perhaps you'd like to count my Homelite 7-19 as still running.

Interesting question but think its hard to answer since some saw models continue in other countries but not in the U.S. like the Stihl 038. Homelite XL -12 series were made for many years with lots of different badges, even worked on one that I think was poulan green/yellow. Poulan s-25 series were sold as craftsman and green machine for a long time also. Cool question, look forward to responses. ;)

This is probably going to get some interesting responses, like my thread on the toughest saw ever made. Homie XL 12s seem to be one of those things you just cant kill, no matter how hard you try.

If you are talking about a model,in continuous production, the McCulloch 10-10 would be a contender. These saws were introduced in the late 60's and were in the last runs of production in 1998.In all of it's many configurations, around 30 years.

How about the Stihl 1111 series powerhead? Started with the 050, through the 051, 075, 076, TS50, etc.. and is still going (not for long, I think) with the TS510 and TS760.

I would agree that it is going to be tough to find a saw that has been in production longer than the 08. There is new one on ebay right now. They are still being produced in other countries. I am not sure when it began production.

My vote however would have to go to the Stihl Contra/Lighting/070. I believe it was first produced in 1959 as the Contra/Lighting. It is still being made today as the 070. Obviously not in the USA but is still being produced.

08s

In my opinion the Contra/Lightning does not count, as they were replaced by the 070 and 090 (Contra/Lightning S) models. The 070 was introduced in 1968, and is still sold as a current model in Mexico. They are probably made in Brazil. A copy is also made in Shanghai, China, but it is sold under another name.

I think Mange and Stihltech is right that the 08S, introduced 1965, is the oldest model still being made (Brazil, I think).

Considering this is an international question, and the number of saws produced by one model under a long period of time, must be the most popular.
I have no clue to how many 08/08s there is made/sold, but I bet it is more than any other Stihl, any other saw model too, regardless of brand.
here it is very common, almost as common as Partner R11, that is all over the place.
If you say old saw here, they respond Partner R11?

The 051 is still sold as a current model in many countries, the 076 at least in one (Mexico). I think they are made in Brazil.
These models are a good deal newer than some other models mentioned, though.
