You might better save your pennies for a real chip truck. At that price point you aren't too far off of a decent unit that could handle twice what that little gas hog one ton will. Maybe worth it if they take that gay ass print off the side. lol IDK, a ten year old, duded up, gas powered, pickup ain't worth $15,500 in my book. That's about what I had in my F800 by the time we put it together. Another 10 g's and you could have a decent forestry bucket with as much capacity as that little truck. Lotta options out there, don't be fooled by shiny paint.

I agree with these guys. I picked up a 94 f650 with the cummins and only 65k miles for 15k in mint shape. Looks like a clean truck but I don't imagine it will hold a whole lot of chips and haul a big chipper efficiently. But for a smaller chipper and mostly trimming work it could have its place, guess it depends on what your mostly going to use it for. I think the price is a little steep tho.

I already have a bucket truck.

I was mainly looking to get another pickup truck to plow, dump firewood, etc. That is what he is asking for the truck. I am gonna negociate with him. I have been looking around for a 450 or 550 dump, but i cant seem to find one for less them $40,000. I thought about getting a 650 series because they seem to be cheaper.

Just for reference. It took me 2 seconds to find this truck.

1999 International 4700 chip box truck : Chip & Dump Trucks

Same price, less miles, more toolboxes, tons more room for chips and it's a real truck, on a real frame, with a real engine. Just sayin'.

I am really looking for something that I can use to haul my trailers or skid loader. I also do landscaping too, so it would be nice to have a all around truck. A 550 would be nice though.

That truck would haul whatever you would put behind it. If you're looking for a small truck buy a 3/4 ton and put a ez dumper in it. I really just hate 1 ton dually's. They're "tweeners". Not enough truck to really haul, and too much truck to run around in. Not to mention they're stuffing way too much engine, electronics and other bs in the newer ones that they're a huge headache to work on.

I have thought about that too, but used trucks around here seem to be in hot demand. Seems like you cant get anything good for less then $30,000. Then I would have to build a chipbox with a removable top.

truck looks nice but the deal breaker for me would be the 4x2 if your gonna use it for Firewood gonna be hard to get a one legger out of a muddy snowy yard when the old guy says "hey can you just back over there and dump it" and now you have no weight in the tale end. Thanks FC

Well plowing with a 2 wheel drive is asking for trouble.

not a bad little truck but the 4x2 and price are killers i sold a f550 with 20k miles on it for 26 grand that was 4x4 and diesel. 15k is a lot for 100k motor they usually don't run to 200 without a lot of $$ being spent.

the 6.0 is not a bum engine , my guy has a 2500 with a 6 liter and he got 280K outta it before it went , and far as capacity well ya know what ya got there and believe me I am a bit partial to the smaller trucks myself who wants to be lugging around in a huge truck anyway we have 5 dumps within 10 miles of each other that's never a concern , that is a nice truck more like 12K nice but I wouldn't hesitate offering that either maybe they'll bite and make sure it has the good LS trans in it I like that truck though sharp as hell good luck

ya its definitely a powerful motor but 15k for 100k miles it would have to be a diesel. 10-12k sounds more like it. Theirs an f-450 for sale down the street from me its a 1999 with a 460 in it 4x4 and 40k original miles for 12k.
just stay away from the 6.0 power stroke thats the only motor i would advise against i originally had 2 05 F-500's and got rid of them because of that garbage motor. if you buy one of those sit 10k aside for the repairs its gonna need to make it to 100k in miles.

I still need my one ton 4x4, just did two jobs where I couldn't use the big truck. Gotta have both IMO.

That truck is definitely gay though, looks feminine.. and two wheel sucks.
