I have this posted in the trading post but it was suggested to let you all have a look at it too. Hope I'm not out of line here.

I'm looking for a sit on the ground type bandmill. I'm a homesteader that is always building some kind of outbuilding. 18" capacity or better. I dont mind a full manual set up. Rough condition is ok as I dont mind doing some fabrication or repairs, etc. Hey I'm on a budget but I dont mind paying for quality. Home builts I'll consider as well.

I assume you are aware of this site http://sawmillexchange.com/
yep. yep, nothin in my budget. is anyone out there that knows of an entry level "cheap" used bandmill? Even a project will do. Please dont post back that I wont get much of a band mill for Cheap I do know that. That said, my budget is 2000. again I dont expect a mill with hydraulics, a full manual mill will suit. Ps. I have looked at all the likely spots online, thats why I'm checking with you guys.

tanks I'm seriously leaning that way if I can get 25% off thats 500 bucks off. and with 5% tax here in maine its so not bad. even the linn kits are more. PLUS It gives me a turn key start. Im good at fabrication, and guys on utube have some great ideas on making this thing more user friendly. I will let u know what happens.

yeah, its 2 grand, Im seriously thinking on this. I have come to the conclusion that if I treat one of these mills as a "kit" I wont be disappointed.

That said I just received 2 stihl 041av's and an 032 from the trading post here that run (200$ shipped)! and need some tinkering.

For now I'm gonna (fool around) with one of the 041s to square some timbers up with a cheap lumber maker. I need a bar though. Any reccomendations on bar length for squaring 14- 18 inch red pine, hemlock, fir and such? all longer than 8 feet?

BUT I am still looking for a mill, guys.
