My DEC forester must be busy, I don't hear back from him very often. Here is my situation. 20+ acres of red pine that I'd like to clear cut so I can start a Christmas tree farm. Like I said I've asked the forester for a list of local loggers and haven't hearb back. So I thought I'd see if anyone on here knew of one. I'm just outside of Bath,NY in Steuben County. Look forward to some feedback.

search timber procurement in your area, should be able to find a good office that has some good contract loggers. Is the wood any count, or is it all pulpwood that has to be cut 16 foot? lol that might be why you cant get it cut
Don't think they are running their timber harvester program anymore... you can try to find a logger @ New York Logger Training - Home Page but it may still be tough to find someone to cut pine pulp.
